Helping my best friend's mom

Hi, I'm Adrian and Yolanda is the mother of my best friend from childhood. I've known her since I was 6 and right now she's in a hospital in the ICU.

I cannot begin to recount how many times I stayed in their place as a kid, and how fond and loving it always was. She would always have a new plan for us to do. Be it taking us paddling in the Parque del Este lake, or be it taking us to eat sushi which she knew was my favorite food. She always welcomed me as if I was her own.

As I mentioned before, Yolanda is in the ICU right now. She had a colon infection which spread through her entire body. It's been the worst time of my friend's life and medical expenses are increasing rapidly. They amount to around $100 per day which is an enormous amount where I come from, Venezuela. He's also the main source of income in his family, since his dad died when he was young, and there are no siblings in the picture to contribute.

I hope with this GoFundMe I get to help my best friend cover the daily treatments, medicines, and tests and, God forbid, to pay for any emergency that might arise.

The money will be withdrawn by Chela Garcia, my cousin who lives in the US and has a US bank account, and she will give the money directly to my friend, Alberto, in Venezuela.

Hola, soy Adrián y Yolanda es la madre de mi mejor amigo de la infancia. La conozco desde que tenía 6 años y ahora mismo está en el hospital en la unidad de Cuidados Intensivos.

No puedo parar de contar todos los fines de semana que estuve en su casa de niño, donde ella siempre me recibió de la manera más amorosa y afectuosa posible. Siempre tenía un plan nuevo cada vez los visitaba. Ya sea que nos llevaba a remar en el lago del Parque del Este, o llevándonos a comer sushi, que ella sabía era mi comida favorita. Ella siempre me recibió como si fuera uno más de la familia.

Como mencioné, en este momento Yolanda está en la unidad de cuidados intensivos. Tuvo una infección del intestino que se extendió por todo su cuerpo. Han sido los peores momentos de la vida de mi amigo y los gastos médicos se están acumulando rápidamente. Suman alrededor de $100 por día, lo cual es una cantidad enorme de donde yo vengo, Venezuela. Adicionalmente, él es la principal fuente de ingresos de su familia, ya que su padre murió cuando él era joven y no tiene hermanos que puedan contribuir.

Espero que con este GoFundMe pueda ayudar a mi mejor amigo a cubrir los tratamientos, medicamentos y pruebas diarias y, Dios no lo quiera, cubrir los gastos de cualquier emergencia que pueda surgir.
