Help [Beneficiary] Fight Unjust Charges

I recently was assaulted outside of my local business by a drug addict, and hit repeatedly with a skateboard. I was charged with criminal mischief in the 4th for breaking the board he hit me with. I was told by city PD that the charge would likely be dropped considering I was in the middle of being assaulted with said board. Sadly after court I was issued an order of protection filed against me, and future court dates. I’m now facing up to a year in Jail for simply defending myself against a career criminal that has been terrorizing our city for years. That kind of time would literally make me lose everything. I’m asking for help for legal council which will have to be hired out of town because my “victim” has been represented by about every lawyer out here, and is a conflict of interest. I’m in a real bind here, due to some guy that thinks he’s a gangster and can push people around as he sees fit. Unfortunately the police seem to be backing him in this.
