Chad's Heart Surgery
Spende geschützt
#GoBeyondGiving
My name is Alexis Bloom. I have one sister, Selena and we are the daughters of Chad and Christene Bloom. I have started this GoFundMe for my dad.
My dad was born with a narrowing of the large blood vessel that leads from the heart, also known as a heart murmur. He had his first heart surgery at just nine days old, and since then, he has had 5 open heart surgeries, and has an artificial heart valve.
In 2013 it was discovered that his ascending aortic root was slightly enlarged and in August 2016 it was discovered that his aortic root had grown in size. After numerous tests, it was also discovered that his heart was not beating at a normal pace, and there was talk of a pacemaker. The doctor's did not feel an immediate threat for the pacemaker. After more testing and more doctor appointments , Chad's heart had enough.
In late October 2016, Chad collapsed at work. He had no pulse and was not breathing. His co-workers immediately started chest compressions and revived Chad. Chad was rushed to the hospital where it was decided that he needed to have a dual chamber pacemaker put in, yet that night due to his heart rate being so low.
In December of 2016, Chad will undergo his seventh heart surgery to repair his ascending aortic aneurysm. He will be in the hospital for 7 days, and have months of healing. We are hoping that he will be able to return to work in May 2017.
Our goal is to raise $5,000 to help with his medical bills, and hotel bills for his family.
We would like to raise as much money as we can by the end of January 2017. I know this is the toughest time of year and anything that can be donated for this is greatly appreciated.
