Cory’s journey to recovery
Donation protected
It is with heavy hearts that we call on our families, friends, and community to help our dear friend Cory Vleeming.
On June 16, 2022 Cory was involved in a scooter accident that has left him with a severe head trauma. He is currently on life support in the ICU, and we are all devastated. Cory underwent
two emergency brain surgeries since last Thursday morning and is in a medically induced coma. We are taking this day by day. Cory has been in a coma for 11 days now, and while he has shown signs of improvement, we know this is going to be a long road to recovery for Cory.
Born on August 16, 1991, Cory grew up in Surrey, BC. He is a lover of animals, nature, travelling,
and adventure. Cory has spent his last five summers working with BC Wildfire Services, as a proud member of the Nicola Knights Fire Crew, stationed out of Merritt, BC. He worked hard to complete all of his schooling and is now a certified City Firefighter. He was just recently this month invited to re-apply to the Vancouver Fire Rescue Services and his dream career as a city Firefighter has now been put on hold.
Cory has a loving soulmate, Sarah. They spend all of their time together camping, travelling,
and helping others. Sarah and Cory spend their winters helping the elderly in their community with snow removal and odd jobs needed. They are both extremely hard workers
with big dreams and inspirations. This unfortunately has put their dreams on hold.
We as friends and family are rallying together to try and support Cory and Sarah as best as we can
through this unknown.
Please help however you can by donating to or sharing the “gofundme” account set up for Cory’s journey to recovery, any amount will help these two get through this tragic time.
