Her Story

My khalamuni is the most welcoming person you will ever meet. Trips to her home are full of warmth, laughter, and memories you carry with you forever. She is a loving mother of two from Mymensingh, Bangladesh.

In early 2022, she was diagnosed with cancer. She and her family traveled to Sri Ramachandra Hospital in Chennai, India for treatment: gall bladder removal and two tumor removal surgeries. It worked. Scans through 2022 to 2025 came back clear. Then in June 2025, the pain returned. She travelled back to Chennai, only to find the cancer had metastasized to Stage 4B. She completed four cycles of chemotherapy and underwent a colostomy surgery, along with oral chemotherapy. But now in May 2026, her pain has returned again stronger than ever.

We Need Your Help because the cancer has metastasized, her doctors are recommending immunotherapy as her best real path forward. The hospital has estimated the full course of treatment at $114,900 USD ($160,000 CAD) for 18 cycles. We are raising $75,000 CAD ($54,000 USD) to cover immediate treatment, travel, accommodations, and living costs in Chennai. Since 2022, the family has exhausted every means possible. The most recent trip alone cost $16,000 USD ($22,000 CAD).
