Hi, I’m Seri, Holly’s niece, and I’m putting this together to rally support for someone who has spent her life taking care of others.

Just a few weeks ago, Holly was diagnosed with Stage 2 colon cancer. She’s scheduled for surgery this July and will begin chemotherapy shortly after. Her doctors believe she’ll be unable to work for at least six months, and as a single mom, that reality is beyond overwhelming.

If you know Holly, you know she’s one of the most selfless and faith-filled women you’ll ever meet. She’s been a nurse for 24 years at Lutheran Hospital—ten of those as a charge nurse in the Mom and Baby unit. She shows up early, stays late, and gives her whole heart to every patient she cares for. Now, she’s the one who needs care and support.

During her recovery, Holly has to take time away from work to focus fully on her health. As a single mom, this season comes with extra challenges; keeping up with everyday expenses like her house payment, groceries, and bills, all while navigating the costs that can come with cancer treatment. One of the moments she’s holding onto is the hope of traveling to see her son, Cyle, graduate from Air Force Boot Camp in Texas, a milestone that means so much to her.

Holly is a proud Colorado native who loves to hike, travel with her kids, and share slow mornings with coffee and conversation with her sister, parents, and nieces. Her faith in Jesus Christ is her anchor, and even in the face of something this difficult, she continues to carry herself with grace, strength, and gratitude. Her kids, Kaitlyn and Cyle, are a direct reflection of the woman who raised them: compassionate, strong, and full of love.

I’m hoping this fundraiser will help ease the financial burden so Holly can focus fully on healing—not on how she’ll make ends meet. Every donation, every share, and every prayer means more than you know.
