Jamie's Cancer Fight & Home Repairs

Donation protected

We are coming to you on behalf of our dear friend Jamie Fox. After years of hard work Jamie was able to purchase a home for her and her 3 kids at the end of 2019. In 2020 Jamie lost her job due to Covid and was then diagnosed with Breast Cancer. She underwent a mastectomy and a full year of targeted immune therapy infusions, became her own healthcare advocate and changed her life from top to bottom to fight cancer. Being conscious about everything that goes into her body from food to medicine and pushing herself in a constant exercise routine she did everything she possibly could to be strong enough to beat cancer and remain here for her children. And she did it. Or so we thought. In 2021, Jamie’s children, Taylin, Jaden and Nyla lost their father in a tragic car accident. Seeing her kids lose a parent, only gave Jamie more reason to fight. To stay on her healthy way of life, it wasn’t easy, at times it took everything she had but she continued to push through. In 2023, life took another swing, the cancer was back with vengeance. Jamie was yet again diagnosed with Breast Cancer this time it was Stage 4 that metastasized to her bones. In January she reached to pick up a Christmas ornament and a large tumor that was present on her spine caused her back to break sending her to emergency surgery. Shortly after a tumor in her leg caused another surgery to put a rod in her leg. But Jamie still fought, still pushed her body to remain healthy enough to continue the fight, pushing herself to walk 2 miles just a week after surgery to keep her strength up for the chemotherapy and radiation that was coming. She made it through the treatments with promising results that enabled her to go onto just a maintenance plan.

At this point she will never not have cancer. She had to have the tough talks with her kids about planning for their future and the real possibility that she may not be here for it. Her boys Tay and Jay have had to grow up far beyond their years. Vowing to take on responsibilities for their little sister Nyla if the worst is to come. Jamie has never asked for help, her positivity and determination has been awe-inspiring. But we never expected any less as this has always been who Jamie is, proud, strong, independent and the best friend you could ever wish to have. Here we are present day and life is hitting this brave amazing woman yet again. The home she purchased in 2019 has foundation issues. Jamie has hired and paid for nearly $20,000 in repairs to try to make it safe for her family. Multiple insurance policies and home warranties have all denied her claims for assistance. And to top of it all off, her tumor markers are elevated again and she is scheduled for another PET scan as they fear she may have a growing mass in shoulder that will send her back in for treatments, again. Jamie knows that tomorrow is never promised, but worrying about whether she will leave her children in a safe home where they will be able to stay together is not something she should also have to endure. If you know Jamie, you know that her heart and compassion for humanity has put her in a place to help so many people in her 42 years of life. She has never missed an opportunity to inspire someone’s soul, to uplift their spirit or to be a guiding light for them through their struggles. If you have ever been privileged to have one of those “Jamie talks”, had your belly filled from her kitchen or been uplifted from one of her hugs please join us in trying to relieve just a small portion of the stress she is under by donating to the funds to fix her home. If you don’t know her personally, please take it from us that there no one more deserving of this.
