Help Us Stay Housed

Hello everyone, despite my best efforts, aside from a government grant (which total'ed to half of my former yearly income, before taxes...) and a small gig over here and there, I haven't been able to make any money for the past 2.5 years.

I was already dealing with a lots of financial distress to begin with, mostly caused by me moving to a new country/city two months before Covid hit and ruined my short term plans, and draining my savings, and due to trying to survive by myself in the German bureaucratic hell as an independent freelance artist/software developer for years, and to be perfectly honest I do not think I was in this much financial distress and precarity since my early 20s (which coincided with the 2008 economical crisis...)

Those of you who are close to me, already know things are serious for a while now. I am currently behind on July rent in addition to monthly payments (totaling to 2500 Euros) and we are facing eviction by August 1st.

My long term goal is to move out of this country and start over (even if it means losing my chance to get a EU passport and all the privileges that come with it here) because of how hostile current environment here is to me as a self employed non-EU person, and detrimental to my financial, physical and mental health.

However, to do that I still need to have housing and pay the bills for another few months, as I am in the process of starting a 3D print business for a while now (even that is on hold because I can't pay the fees to register and list on Etsy or in local markets), and also working on a vertical slice for my video game which I am hoping to release in 2026. And I have plans to look for some funding soon (yes funny I know, given the current indie game funding environment, but not a joke)

This 5000 euro will not save us completely (as my current rent is ridiculously high, given rents in Berlin rose 50% from 2015 to now, so this is how the market is) but it will give us a few months to survive.

Whatever else we can raise on top, it will go to Coda's long postponed castration surgery, and way overdue debts I urgently need to pay (including taxes)

I am aware this is a time where a lot of people are in need, and I am just one of those many voices, but if I finally manage to get out of this situation, I promise to pay forward whatever help is given to me.
