Help Rachael and the RFS Majors Creek Brigade
Donation protected
Please help Rachael MacDonald and the Majors Creek Brigade.
Rachael joined the RFS (Rural Fire Service) in 1991. On Christmas Eve she decided to let the Majors Creek Brigade know that she was fully trained and equipped to start fighting with them against the fire. She has been on a truck since then.
It’s been a horrible few weeks. She is part of a tiny brigade of 8 people trying to protect a village of 250 people with only the basic equipment. She has downloaded and paid for herself a mapping app so they can see where they are going. She had purchased head torches so they can see what they are dealing with when the smoke takes away the sun.
What would be really good is a donation to purchase at least two (one for each truck) GIS mapping / tracking devices, these are similar to an iPad but specific to the RFS. They are a few thousand each but it means when a 000 call comes in they aren’t looking at paper maps which they may or may not have in the truck! But also other equipment is needed urgently.
