Hi guys, my name is Liv and I’ve created a go fund me to help with Beanies medical bills, Beanie. Beanie is my 3 year old cat, who I got in October 2022 alongside his brother Cookie, and then a few months later another cat called Arthur - they grew into one big family.

we recently moved into our first home and the cats have been loving the outdoors… so much!!

unfortunately today, I let the cats out at usual, but beanie wasn’t returning home, it would be one call with beanie and he runs over the fence and is home. My partner found him in front of our gate, lethargic and we then discovered a wound, he was weak and couldn’t even walk up the stairs.

we took him to the out of hours vets which cost £186 for the out of hours fee, injection and medication for at home. The vet told us that beanie’s tail is paralysed and although it could be temporary, there’s a chance that it’s not and would need an X-ray to discover more - if it is permanent he would need his tail amputated.

the X-ray alone is £400 - plus what the future could bring if this paralysis is permanent and the potential cost is just not something we can afford without support. We’ve been told if he has to have his tail amputated it could cost over £1000.

EDIT:

We went and visited beanie who had his X-ray today due to not being able to pass urine or a bowel movement. His tail is completely taken away from the spine as can be seen in picture below so we are having to get his tail amputated on Monday - this will cost approximately £800 as quoted by the vet. He eventually passed a bowel movement when we visited tonight as we suggested switching litter to one he’s used to and he went :D if all goes well and he passes urine he will come home for the weekend.
