Killina Zambia Immersion Project 2025

Here at Killina Presentation Secondary School we are preparing to embark on another Zambia Immersion Project.

This program is a working project with our partner school in Kaoma, Zambia. A group of students from our school, Killina Presentation Secondary School, will visit our partner school, Mahilo School, in Kaoma. There they will be teaching the students Irish song, dance, traditional music and culture. They will also be learning these same topics from the students in Mahilo.

We will also be visiting a variety of projects set up by the Presentation Sisters in the Western Province of Zambia, such as a home based care clinic for those with AIDS, schools for physically disabled children, and others.

We would like to thank all those who have already supported our Zoom to Zambia fundraiser on December 28th in Tullamore Bridge Centre. Here, our participating students completed an all-day 'pelo-thon', where they attempted to cycle the distance from Zambia's capital city Lusaka to Mahilo School, Kaoma. We hope to continue to raise much needed funds for this very important project. All funds go straight into the project and are greatly appreciated.
