Our awesome local rockstar artist Zook (@doodlezook), aka Shawn White, needs our community's support during a challenging time. Known throughout Janesville and far beyond for his artwork and his generous spirit, he's touched countless lives with his warmth, wisdom, and gentle nature. Anyone who knows Zook can tell you about his impact. He's the first to offer help when others are struggling, and now we have a chance to help him in return.

Who is Zook?

If you've spent time in our local coffee shops and watering holes, you've likely crossed paths with this nerdy, motorcycle-riding artist who has become such a fixture in our community. Perhaps he's given you a card with an original doodle and stickers at random, or said a kind word to you when you've had a terrible day. He has a unique gift for making people feel safe when he's around, and so he naturally makes friends everywhere he goes. Zook has a real knack for making people happy just by showing up.

Why He Needs Our Help

Life has recently thrown some serious challenges his way. While dealing with a handful of personal setbacks, Zook's now facing urgent medical needs. He requires significant dental work, including specialized cleaning and possibly implants, and doctors have recently identified complications with an existing heart condition. It is estimated that he'll need about $5,000 to begin the first phases of the dental work, and ultimately about $20,000 to complete his journey to the smile he deserves. As someone who is always there for others, he's finding it difficult to ask for help himself.

The Goal

We're aiming to raise $10,000 to help cover his medical and dental expenses. This will help ensure he gets the care he needs and can continue being the bright presence we all know and love in our community.
