I spent my 50th Birthday on 28th February having a day out at the zoo!
...running round it's paths!
It took me 11 hours, with someone there to let me in ...and out! ...from 7am to 6pm
I ran 50 miles!
Due to injuries and other factors my longest run for ages before this was 19 miles!
The zoo paths have a lot of twists and turns ...and it's hilly!
It was a real challenge!
Why?...

The zoo's 2020 annual turnover was down by almost £4million from 2019
Attendance in 2020 was 40% down on 2019 (just 600,000 visitors)
It costs over half a million pounds a month to operate
They have over 10,000 animals in their care
They have 250 staff, with many made redundant or furloughed
£20 can care for one of their Spider monkeys for a day (they have 7)
£30 can feed one of their Sealions their quota of fish for a day (they have 5)
£40 can cover a day’s food for one of their White rhinos (they have 6)

We love our zoo and it desperately needs our support!
Can you imagine not having it!?
