“Real heroes don’t wear capes… they teach.” Zohar Badenhausen is the epitome of this quote. Not only is he a dedicated 4th grade teacher for the Worcester Public Schools, but also he is an important member of the school’s instructional leadership team. In his “spare time” he has been working tirelessly to complete his dissertation toward earning his doctorate in education. He is also a devoted husband and new father to a beautiful baby boy.

Zohar had everything going for him, until all of a sudden his world came crashing down around him when he learned the devastating news that he had stage 3c colon cancer. On the bright side, his amazing doctors were able to successfully remove the tumor, however he still has a long road of chemo and radiation ahead of him. On top of the cost of medical bills, Zohar and his family recently moved into a new home. Furthermore, his paid sick days are coming to an end.

So this is where you all come in! We’re asking you all to join forces and help him in this fight by easing his financial burden so this amazing man can focus solely on defeating this incredible challenge, instead of worrying about how he is going to support himself and his family. To know Zohar is to know one of the most humble men to ever walk the planet. He takes care of everything and everyone around him, so now in his time of need, it is up to us to take care of him.
