Help Zoey Recover From Emergency Tail Amputation

Hi everyone, I’m reaching out because my sweet Goldendoodle, Zoey, recently went through a sudden medical emergency that we never expected.

Zoey developed a mass on her tail that we had examined and aspirated by our vet. At first we were hopeful it would give us answers and help her feel better, but within just 48 hours things took a terrifying turn. The mass rapidly became necrotic and extremely painful, and the situation escalated so quickly that the only option to save her and stop the pain was an emergency tail amputation surgery.

Zoey has been my best friend since she was just a puppy. She has been by my side through some of the hardest moments of my life, always offering unconditional love, comfort, and loyalty. She has been there for me through everything, and now it’s my turn to be there for her through one of the hardest moments of her life.

As any pet owner knows, our dogs are family. Seeing Zoey go from her happy, playful self to being in so much pain was heartbreaking. The surgery was necessary to save her and prevent the infection from spreading, but the unexpected emergency vet bills have been overwhelming.

In order to make sure this doesn’t become something more serious, the mass has been sent to histopathology for testing to determine exactly what kind of tumor it was and to make sure it isn’t a spreading cancer. We are currently waiting for those results while focusing on helping Zoey heal and recover from surgery.

Zoey is only 5 years old and has so much life and love left to give. She is the sweetest, most loving dog and brings so much joy to everyone she meets. Right now she’s focused on healing and adjusting after surgery, and we’re doing everything we can to make sure she has the best recovery possible.
