Hi, my name is Zoe.
About a year and a half ago, I went through a divorce. Like anyone coming out of something hard, I’ve been doing my best—raising my two kids with love, consistency, and everything I can give emotionally and physically. If you know me, you know I show up for my kids. They are fed, clothed, supported, and they know they are loved. We read books, we cook together, we play. I’ve built a safe, steady home for them.
But just two days ago, I was blindsided.
My ex-husband served me with papers for full custody—and he’s asking the court to have me pay him child support. I was stunned. I had no warning this was coming. I work hard, but I don’t have the financial cushion to fight something like this alone. He makes more than I do and has resources I don’t. I don’t have family I can turn to for help with legal fees.
But I do have community. I have people. And right now, I’m asking for help so I can fight for what’s right: to stay in my children’s lives as their mother—something that should never be taken lightly or decided by who can afford the better lawyer.
Even a few dollars would mean the world to me. If you’ve ever seen me with my kids—or if you’ve ever watched someone good be put in an unfair fight—please consider donating. And if you can’t give, please share.
Thank you for reading this. Thank you for caring.
—Zoe
