Hello,  I'm reaching out for everyone to please pray and read this carefully.

As you may have heard the Woods family has been going through a very tough time right now. Larrel is a makeup artist for my company and one of my dear friends. Please read below to better grasp the situation at hand, they would love your prayers and help.

After spending the past week in and out of hospitals with a variety of symptoms and no answers, Zoë finally admitted into Children’s Hospital of Atlanta and diagnosed with Guillain-Barré Syndrome.

Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) is a rare neurological disorder in which the body's immune system mistakenly attacks part of its peripheral nervous system—the network of nerves located outside of the brain and spinal cord. GBS can range from a very mild case with brief weakness to nearly devastating paralysis, leaving the person unable to breathe independently. Fortunately, most people eventually recover from even the most severe cases of GBS.

Zoe’s case is considered severe, as she has lost lost ability to walk, sit up, or independently function without the help of family and doctors, and has also been struggling to breathe. Zoë is also struggling with slurred speech, partial facial paralysis, and holding her bladder. Because of this, Zoë requires 24/7 care by family and medical staff.

Zoe’s journey has just begun and she is currently in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Doctors predict that it could be anywhere from 3-4 weeks or more before Zoë is able to be discharged into a inpatient facility. There she will have to do daily physical and occupational therapy and relearn basic functioning such as muscle movement and walking. This treatment could take anywhere from 3-12 months and will heavily impact Zoe's ability to attend school, cheer, and other things that she loves. As you can imagine, Zoe's diagnosis will impact the Wood's family for the foreseeable future.

Due to COVID 19, Children’s Hospital of Atlanta is allowing only two family members to visit, making this a hard transition for Zoë and her family. Olivia and Larrel, Zoe’s mom and sister, will be splitting time at the hospital. Because of this, both will miss many days of work making their financial burden even heavier. Donating to the Wood’s family would help to cover medical care, gas and food, and basic necessities, as well as lessen the financial stress of missing work. If you are unable to donate financially, prayers and meal donations are also encouraged.

Zoe and her family have a long road ahead of them, but we trust that God has a bright future for Zoë. She is loved by so many in the community. Please continue to pray for their family as they go through this difficult time. They appreciate all of the calls, texts, and prayers more than you know. ❤️
