Z'nya's Donation Fund to pursue her Degree as a First Gen

Greetings Beautiful People!
My name is Z’nya Renae Spears and I am a 19-yr old Sophomore at California State Long Beach in Southern California. Over my freshmen year, I able able to join all sorts of cultural clubs. The one I was most involved in has been my dance club. I have created so many memories and also got the chance to find other girls my age of color who would like to pursue medicine. I've started an organization for 2024-25 called, "Black Health Professionals" and can't wait to see it pop off next year. Aside from that, I became a member of my Pre-PA club and learned how to do my first stitches! My freshmen year was full of firsts but with the support I got from my go fund me, I felt real confident I could succeed. As a proactive student-leader, I have also acquired numerous volunteer hours with the Boys and Girls Club of San Gorgonio, where I am an active alumni of the Keystone Club and was selected to represent San Gorgonio at the Boys and Girls Club National Conference. I am also an alumni member of the National Honors Society, Vice President of the Black Student Union, and a Dean’s List recipient with a 3.6 GPA last year.
My passion for community involvement and love of peer advocacy has made such a positive impact on my campus community that in November of 2022 I was awarded Student of the Month at Banning High by my Principal and teacher where I was recognized by assemblymen, council members, donors and participating businesses for being, “an impressive example of Student Leadership through influence, guidance and motivation.”

My dream is to become a Physician Assistant in the field of Dermatology, and I have proudly been accepted by a number of prestigious Universities such as: Clarkson University and Albany ACPHS in New York (both having accelerated PA programs), Kennesaw State, Xavier College, Park University, HBCU Clark Atlanta University, along with several California State schools including CDU University, and Cal State Long Beach. With all these phenomenal options, my goal was to choose the campus that best aligns with my aspirations to continue my activism within community and campus culture while simultaneously celebrating black excellence, and most of all, be uplifted in my education as it will be the solid foundation leading into my career and ultimate future.

I have maintained focus and persevered throughout my first year of college tenure and aim to continue this mindset as I journey into this next chapter of my life.

As my Sophomore year of university is coming to a start and the passage into elevated academy draws near, I am humbly asking for help to acquire the necessities for this monumental move into higher learning. With your support and generosity, a smooth and successful transition is possible. Thank you!

Unfortunately, I have to move into an apartment. While others may have support with this I do not. I opt to pay about 7,000 for the entire school year. I have fought hard for scholarships and job opportunities. However, with time ticking I'll need a large help to get me started for the year. I'm hoping with your donations I can achieve that quickly. So Thank you! :)
