Hello. My name is Juliet Coetzer. I feel deeply embarrassed to be asking my fellow
tenants for your support to help me keep my home and avoid eviction. I am 54 years
old. I am a refugee from Zimbabwe. I have lived at 111 Lawton Blvd for 14 years. I
am a responsible and resilient woman, who has sadly and unexpectedly fallen into
financial duress. I have always paid rent on time, but now I owe rent, and am facing
the threatened loss of my basic shelter and will lose my home. Even though I made
an agreement with Akelius, they overstepped. Akelius sent me an "N8" which means
that my lease is up (yet I am not on a lease) on the day they say was March 31st,
2025. Additionally, they requested that I attend an online court. My court date for
eviction is June 25th. I do not have a lawyer because lawyers at Legal Aid, or lawyers
for Landlord and Tenant disputes, are still overwhelmed from the issues that started
during the pandemic.
I am in a terrifying situation, and I am hoping that you would kindly contribute any
amount to my GoFundMe.
