Hello! My name is Rafi, I’m 21 years old, and me my mother, my sister, and I had to flee our home in South Lebanon because of Israel’s ruthless bombing of the south.
We are now in Beirut, where we managed to rent a small room for $600, since the living cost in here are incredibly high. Very unfortunately, though, the rent for our second month here is due on the 27th, and we don’t have the money to pay for it, nor any way to predict when or if we’ll manage to get this money. Which means we’ll either have to live at risk by going back home, or that we’ll be homeless.
My mom used to work back home, but since we were forced to leave, she hasn’t been able to find another job, at least not yet, and my sister and I are both college students, and we haven’t found jobs either, despite our efforts. So it’s been impossible to financially support our mother and/or save money to pay the rent in the next few months.
Despite the war happening around us, we’re trying to hold onto our education, and our online classes start again next week.
Right now, we genuinely need help, even if it’s something I wish I didn’t have to ask at all.
If you’re able to support in any way, even a small amount or by sharing this, it would mean more than I can explain.
Thank you for whichever way you choose to help.
