Alexs fight began in 2012.  He was suffering seizures and his wife took him to the E.R. and a MRI was performed.  Alex was diagnosed with a brain tumor on his left top side and a small tumor on his brain stem.  In Nov. 2012, Alex received surgery on top left side tumor.  The surgery involved him awake for a portion of the surgery.  The surgery lasted several hours but the removal of that tumor was a success.  It took months of recovery.  The only thing that remained was the small tumor on his brain stem.  From 2012-2016, Alex remained active & lived life to the fullest, & held down a job.  He was told to monitor the remaining brain stem tumor.  In 2017, Alex started feeling ill.  The tumor on brain stem grew and he lost the ability to walk.  He started radiation & chemo & was also put on steroids.  The radiation was for several weeks & the steroids would keep him awake at night at times.  The steroids also caused him to swell up.  He never complained & vowed to fight the disease.  After radiation, Alex started chemo treatment.  The chemo exhausted him but never took the fight outta him.  Alex continued visting his doctor and receiving MRI's.  The results were the tumor was frozen, but continued with the chemo.  Alex had a great support system by his side.  His wife & family & friends were always there for him.  He was slowly taken off the steroids but still continued chemo and check ups with his doctor.  Again & again, no change the tumor was frozen.  Within all this time, Alex never stopped enjoying life & spending time with his family.  He lived, laughed, & loved & kept fighting.  He was admitted to the hospital in 2018, because of a high dosage of chemo he was given.  He stayed in the hospital for almost a week but recovered & came home.  In 2019, Alex still depending on a wheelchair, continued his fight with Brain Cancer.  He kept on with chemo treatments and doctor visits.  The MRI results continued with no change (stable).  In September 2019, Alex started feeling ill.  He had a hard time swallowing food & had a bad cough.  His body already confined to a wheelchair became less mobile.  Alex went for a MRI & the results he heard was the worst.  His doctor was stunned, the tumor was awake and had become aggressive.  He was to start radiation again along with chemo.   As the doctor said " to buy you some time".  It was a fight Alex had no quit on.  He started radiation & chemo, but was not feeling well.  When he went to chemo, his breathing was heavier than normal.  He was checked and taken to the hospital, where it was found out he had an pneumonia.  He was given oxygen & put on antibiotics.  The tumor had progressed to that Alex could no longer talk or swallow.  He had failed a swallow test & was put a temporary feeding tube.  His wife & family were told that the pneumonia & the rapid growth of his tumor declined his health.  Doctors notified us that Alex was on 80% oxygen.  Without it he would die.  Alex would be intubated but would never recover or go home.  He would be put in a nursing home or hospice.  Wife & family did not want to see Alex suffer.  The doctors told his wife & family that he would slowly be taken off all meds & given normal oxygen.  He would be given morphine to make him comfortable.  His disease had mutated to a deadly rapid growing cancer.  He was given a private room & with his wife who never left his side and family passed away in the early hours of Nov. 2, 2019.  Alex was a fighter till the very end.  He loved his wife & family & little dog Bo.  He will be missed by all who knew him.  He did not let cancer stop him from enjoying life.  We are all devastated by his loss.  He loved sports, the Oakland Raiders, The Detriot "Bad Boy" Pistons of the late 80's /early 90's, Lebron James & Barry Bonds.  He loved buying & viewing movies & loved collecting figures of Batman, Daredevil etc.   Alex will always be in our hearts & the memories will never die.  He left us with one of the greatest lessons in life.   KEEP FIGHTING!!

We are Alexs nieces Alexandra & Alyssa Ramirez & Alyssas boyfriend Adrian.  We are asking for help for cremation & service costs.  The money will go to Alexs wife Roxanne to help pay for costs.  Any amount can help.  Thank You..
Just Because we reach our goal, doesn't mean we should stop.... Anything extra we receive can be used to help with medical bills.
