A few weeks ago, my mom moved into my home after having reconstructive surgery on her leg. She broke 5 bones and had 9 screws and 2 plates put into her leg. During her 24-hour stay after surgery, I noticed a lump on her chest, which led us to imaging and a biopsy. We found out she had aggressive lung cancer that spread to her brain. The doctors gave her less than 8 weeks to live without treatment. Today, she started the process of radiation treatment to help prolong her life.
Since then, my boyfriend and I have been paying for some of her meds and other needs out of pocket. I am currently out of work due to a hip replacement and getting ready to have another surgery on the same leg. We are struggling financially. Today, my boyfriend was laid off work and my car broke down coming home from an appointment as well. I am currently looking for under-the-table work, and my boyfriend is looking for seasonal work as he is a wildland firefighter. Please share and donate if you can. Thank you all!
