Dementia care is very hit and miss in this country.
We have been so lucky to have an amazing home look after my father over the last 6 months.
The staff at Highlands borders Care Home in Exeter, are truely fantastic, working long hours with very high stress levels constantly through out their long shifts, but they do it with a warm smile and understanding that is amazing.
The dedication of the manager and her team at Highlands borders, allowed my father to stay longer in the care home before he moved in to a nursing home, which specialise to his growing needs.
Our family would like to thank all the staff for their support by raising money to help them make a massive difference to the people affected by dementia.
So a group of us will be walking across Dartmoor, from north to south.
From Belstone to Ivybridge, approximately 14 miles on day one and 16 miles on day two, a route my father and I did 30 years ago. To raise funds to allow them to continue their amazing work and hopefully support the many extra things they do for the residents and families.
So many people have experience of this cruel disease and the impact it has on not only the patient but also friends and family.
So don't forget to give some money, every little helps someone.
Thank you.
