Hi all-
Those of you who have been following me know my story. Basically, in late October, I had symptoms resembling a stroke-left sided body tingling and numbness. Symptoms continued to pile on-migraines, vision issues, leg weakness, vertigo, tinnitus, etc.
I've had 4 hospital stays, 4 MRIs, blood tests, ultrasounds, angiograms, every piece of testing under the sun, combined with Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and pain management all at once. It's been overwhelming, it's been scary, and my medical costs have really piled up. Though I think I'm getting better, the diagnosis is Long COVID-19--which does not have an answer for treatment yet. I'm hopeful, since I'm on an upward trajectory, that I'll make a full recovery, but I'm still in the midst of trying to work and cope with these symptoms.
What I'm aiming for is about half of the medical debt I've had to incur in order to take care of myself. I feel confident paying down a $5000 debt, but double that is daunting, especially when I'm having to reduce the amount of work I'm doing to cope and get the treatment I need.
If you're reading my story, you've already helped me--thank you for that. This has been a lonely, isolating journey, and coping with my mental health has been an extra difficult cherry on top of this already impossibly difficult situation. A simple well wish goes a long way.
If you are able to help, thank you beyond the bottom of my heart. It's not easy to ask for help like this, but I need to. I can't keep hoping to cope all by myself and put myself under more pressure, thereby possibly delaying my recovery process even further.
If you've read this far, thank you. You are a valued member of my community.
