Madelyn's Journey
Donation protected
In spring of 2021 Madelyn was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder called Noonan’s Syndrome at the age of 3. Throughout her 5 years of life, she has dealt with multiple health complications as a result of this syndrome.
Recently, Madelyn was diagnosed with her most daunting health obstacle yet, Brain Cancer.
Although she hasn’t let this hold her back from doing ANYTHING, Maddie’s tumor, or “sassy spot” as she calls it, was discovered this past December when Madelyn's neuro doctors ordered an MRI to figure out why she was still having daily seizure discharge activity.
#MadelynsJourney will now begin a new phase as she begins receiving chemotherapy over the next year. A recent follow up MRI showed Madelyn not only having the one tumor on her brain, but another tumor on her right optic nerve, with an additional one starting to form on her left optic nerve.
The hope for Madelyn is that the chemotherapy works as intended and eliminates all the tumors. Due to her Noonan Syndrome, and the type of tumors she has, the doctors decided to go ahead with chemotherapy to aggressively go after all the tumors. Hopefully eliminate the possibility of Madelyn losing some or all of her eyesight.
"Brain cancer" is one of the scariest things any parent or loved one could possibly hear, and coupled with the possibility of losing eyesight permanently, her family is going to do everything possible to give their 5-year-old baby every opportunity to beat the cancer.
Not only does Maddie’s brain cancer diagnosis turn her world upside down, but overwhelming expenses add enormous amounts of stress that we want to help ease for her family. Everything in Madelyn’s world will need to change as she and her family adapt to a new lifestyle to give her the best possible outcome.
Donations will go directly to Madelyn to help ease the financial burden of needing to take time away for appointments and make sure that her health is prioritized in every possible way moving forward, in addition to the inevtiable medical bills that are going to accumulate.
