Jonathan Johnson is your avarage 15 year old Freshman. Son of Joyce Johnson ( UFCW Local #881 Rep) and Joe Johnson ( Bolingbrook /Romeoville area business leader and community activist). Jonathan is a honor student , a local athlete , and involved in his Bolingbrook/Romeoville community,( just like his dad). Jonatahn fell ill right after the start of his Freshman year at Bolingbrook High School 09/2015. He stopped playing video games, lost his appetite, stopped playing basketball and many of the activities he was involved in daily?
The family immediately looked into what medical reasons would cause these types of changes in Jonathan's behavior, including the intense pain he found himself in daily. While the doctors seached and tested week after week. Jonathan continued to struggle and force his way to school and other community service related activities .
The family dealt with a drop in the family business, the programs they worked with community youth in were caught up with the lost budget of the state of Illinois( due to political foolishness for over 9 months !!), Grandfather was placed on Hospice, and buried a newphew ALL within the last 3 months. Finally on Dec 18th 2015 , Jonathan's team of doctors from Naperville, Wheaton, and the University of Chicago dianoised him with A1L Acurate Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Since that day he has endured in depth blood transfusions, chemotherapy weekly, dozens of medications daily , hair loss, allergic reactions and a host of other side effects in this new battle against this aggressive cancer. Jonathan has been strong and positive, and is looking forward to kicking cancer in the butt!! Thank GOD The family has medical insurance, however the dedutibles, travel cost and patient cost portions of the treatments have buried them. Please join the friends and family members of the Johnson household and pitch in what you can to help offset this tremedous finacial burden! Every little bit helps. We hope to have Jonathan ready for an stem cell transplant in April or May 2016. His sister (Jada Johnson) a senior and honor student at BHS APPEARS to be a match and a hopeful transplant donor to her little brother. With our prayer and support , Jonathan hopes to be able to attend his Sophmore year at BHS ? Please help a family that has always helped others in and around our community. #KICKCANCER'SBUTT!!!! Thanks
