Inspired by his grandfather, a World War II Veteran, Justin lost over 100 pounds to achieve his dream of joining the Navy. He excelled in service and envisioned a long military career, but his plans were tragically cut short when he was injured during his second deployment, leading to a medical discharge.

The transition to civilian life was challenging, but Justin found purpose and healing through farming. After years of perseverance, his dream came true in 2022 when he purchased Black Wind Farm, a place he now owns and manages. Justin has transformed the farm into more than just a thriving operation—it’s a sanctuary where he helps fellow veterans find hope, purpose, and a renewed sense of direction.

But now, Justin’s dream is in jeopardy. Despite all he’s overcome, he faces an unexpected journey. Justin and his brother joined forces to purchase a farm, build a legacy, and use incentives and programs like USDA grants and loans. These programs are essential for farmers who want to grow and thrive, especially starting out. Together, they envisioned a future of shared success and impact. But life had other plans.

Now that Justin’s brother is married, he’s decided to step away from the shared farming venture, leaving Justin to manage the entire operation on his own. This decision has placed a significant financial burden on Justin, as he now must cover the full costs of the farm and secure his eligibility for vital programs designed for joint ownership. Losing the farm would not only devastate Justin but also end his mission of empowering other veterans through farming.
