Twenty seven days ago my sister, beloved friend, daughter, aunt and mother began fighting for her life. Very suddenly she became critically ill and it quickly shattered our world. She spent one month in an advanced trauma unit exploring treatment options and managing through a severe illness. In the end, Susie lost her battle and her life leaving a hole in our hearts and a responsibility to honor her life.
If you knew my sister, you know that she sparkled everywhere she went and touched so many people's hearts. She added something so special to any room that she was in and often brought sunshine to everyone's day. My sister and friend was a caring daughter, devoted mother, true friend and beloved sister. She never lost her sparkle or sunshine. She was a religious person spending her time teaching catholic studies at Saint Patrick's church. She worked tirelessly. As a self employed aesthetician and hair dresser she did not have good health or disability insurance.
In the end, her medical bills exhausted all of her savings and emergency funds as her family pulled together to help her fund exploratory treatments. We are asking our friends and family to help to plan and create a memorial that not only honors her life, but celebrates the love she shared with so many of us. Any donations would be greatly appreciated as we mourn the loss of such a special family member and help honor her last wishes and secure a final resting place. Please share the post if you can and thank you.
