My name is Dr. Thynn Thynn. I am an 84-year-old retired physician living with Chronic Lyme disease for the past 25 years. Lyme disease is caused by a bacteria and it can be cured. However, I cannot tolerate the recommended long course antibiotic treatment due to serious adverse effects. Alternative treatment can also provide a cure, but it is a year-long and not covered by Medicare or private health insurance.

The cost will be $30,000 for one year plus another $20,000 for hiring a caregiver at least 8 hours a day plus expenses of transportation as the nearest Lyme Treatment group is in adjacent Marin County and I live in Sonoma County.

A part-time retired Registered nurse takes care of me 2 hours a day because I have fallen twice and injured my head. I will need an additional caregiver. I will need another caregiver 6 hours in the evening from 6-10 pm, 7 days a week. I will need round-the-clock care during treatment at certain periods when the bacteria activity is at the highest.

Also, because I have never worked in the US, I do not get Social security income. Teaching meditation in everyday life is my passion. When I came to America, I began teaching the Dhamma right away and in 1999, I focused on establishing the Sae Taw Win II Dhamma Center in Northern California. I taught for 20 years by dana (donation) to a group of 30 local Americans because the Dhamma should be given freely. Also, all the Dana went to the Dhamma Center. I am not a Nun so I do not receive donations. In short, I had fallen through the cracks.

Those are the reasons why I am raising funds through GoFundMe, to pay for long-term treatment to eradicate the infection and also cover personal care financing.
