May Update!
Dave has made such great progress! Aphasia is difficult but we are proud of how hard he works at speech therapy!
Dave shows us resilience, patience and determination.
He has a long way to go and will stay in WMass for the near future.
All donations go directly to Dave’s care and are deeply appreciated.
4/9 update….
Dave continues to make improvements
during his recovery! He’s finally getting speech therapy and we are still working on getting PT and OT.
He has a long way to go - keep sending good vibes his way!!
thank you again for the support and donations!
3/22 update…
The journey continues.
While this is not the platform to express the complete disappointment in today’s healthcare, it is the space to ask for everyone to share this GoFundMe. Each and every dollar will be used to get Dave the care he needs, with our goal being to get him living on his own.
For the next month or so, he will be at Armbrook Village in Westfield.
He will have the opportunity to learn independence, daily personal and household care, will continue with his therapies, and most importantly he will be close to family.
Our family thanks each and every one of you! This road is long and we are navigating it as best we can.
3/10 update…
Dave has been moved to a nursing home, Care One in Concord MA.
We are extremely hopeful that he will continue to make progress in his recovery.
His speech has been greatly affected, but with patience (on all ends), we can communicate effectively.
Please continue to keep Dave and our family in your thoughts, and please continue to share this page as often as you can!
We appreciate each and everyone of you!
2/23 update…
David is making good progress at rehab. While he continues to struggle with his speech, he making great strides in other areas. He has a long way to go in his recovery, and we hope that each day he gets stronger and stronger!
Our family is thankful to the amazing donations! Thank you!
————————————-
In early, January, just a short time after our father passed away, our youngest brother, David, suffered a stroke.
Along with the stroke, he’s dealing with many other physical ailments which need to be treated.
He’s currently at Spaulding Rehabilitation, a wonderful rehabilitation facility in Boston, receiving the best care possible.
He will most likely move to a nursing home when he leaves rehab.
We are doing all we can to assist in his recovery but he has a long, hard road ahead of him.
And the mountain of medical bills he will accrue will be devastating.
While his pride would prevent him from ever asking for help, we know that any little bit anyone can share will be life changing and we would all be truly grateful.
Thank you :)
