Support Melissa's Stroke Recovery Journey
Donation protected
On Saturday evening, Melissa was on the ice playing hockey for Framingham University’s girls hockey team where she is a student studying business. Melissa began to develop dizziness and vision changes and was taken to the Emergency Room. Melissa went for a CT scan which showed she had a stroke. She was flown to UMass in Worcester Massachusetts and taken to the Neuro ICU. Melissa has been working every day with physical therapy, speech pathology, neurology and the hospitalists and nursing staff in the Neuro ICU to regain her strength. Melissa will eventually be discharged to a rehab facility that will assist her with activities of daily living.
Melissa has a long road to recovery ahead of her. Melissa and her boyfriend Jasiah moved to Massachusetts in July of 2024 to start work and college after both serving in the military. Heavily reliant on the housing allowance from the military to pay rent, utilities and college materials, Melissa will not be returning to school during her time in rehab. Please consider donating to support Melissa with medical costs, rent payments and utilities.
Any donation, no matter how small will help Melissa and Jasiah keep their apartment, pay for groceries, utilities, medical costs etc. Her family is so incredibly proud of Melissa’s strength and perseverance in this horrific time. From the first day in the hospital she has kept her spirit high and we hope to provider her with the love, support and assistance she deserves.
