Ukraine Refugee Woman and 9yo Daughter Needs Help
Don protégé
Hello,
My brother, Ivan, helps me publish this fundraiser.
My name is Ira. I am a single-parent refugee from Ukraine with a 9 y.o. daughter Polina. We arrived in Chicago in early November to escape from the Russia-Ukraine war.
We’ve settled down in the Northern Suburbs of Chicago and started a new life in the US. My daughter attends 4th grade at an elementary school, while I learn how to drive to get a driver's license to be able to get a job.
Starting a new life in another country as a single mother is challenging, especially since we only arrived with a few luggages. Also, I lost my job in Ukraine before I arrived to the US as the company I worked for closed its operations due to the war.
I’ll appreciate any help and every dollar will count. I plan to use the funds for basic winter clothes, initial rental payments for an apartment and a purchase of a cheap used car.
I have education and experience in accounting. I worked as a manager of a supermarket; managed a restaurant and a manufacturing warehouse as my latest job. I can also sew. So I’ll do my best to find a job and a good life in the US.
Thank you
Ira and Polina
