Raising Support for Steven W.'s Widow
Donation protected
My name is Krystal and I’m asking for help for a dear friend of mine, Stacy, who would never do this herself. Her husband Steve is a Veteran, twice deployed to Iraq. He was also an Over The Road Truck Driver (OTR) and was less than 2 weeks away from coming home to his loving wife and being off the road for good, where they were planning a move from Texas by June 1, 2023 and could live out the rest of their days together in their dream of having a homestead in South Dakota.
When Stacy got the call that her husband suffered a terrible accident she was devastated. Her entire world just crashed in on her, as it would to any of us. But more so because Steve was the main household income until they moved in just a few weeks. Stacy does work, but is chronically ill and has worked from home part-time for the life of their relationship and marriage. Now, she’s struggling to figure out how to celebrate his life, how to make her car payment, and figure out a place to rent as they had given notice to their landlord and had been planning this move for quite some time!
She’s lost without the one person that helped her through everything. Steve was her life, and she was his. The joy he had in telling everyone how he was finally going to move to a place where he could finally hunt again, and show his wife the life they have been dreaming of since they first began dating. My heart is breaking for her as my husband is also a Trucker, it could’ve been any one of us that got that call.
While Stacy is modest & would never think to ask anyone for anything in her time of need, she still offers to help anyone in need. I’m asking that y’all show her what humanity, Veteran Support and Trucker support looks like. Even if it’s only $5 you can spare, please help me help her and their family.
My favorite phrase has always been “some of something is better than all of nothing” and right now, this huge-hearted woman has all of nothing. I have never started anything like this, I don’t even know if it’ll come to anything, but I have to try to help her. Her distant relatives and friends are offering questions instead of support. She needs all of our help, please. Thank you for your time, and again, quite literally anything is helpful in this terrible time. God Bless
100% of donations will go to helping Stacy with her day to day living expenses and to relocate until Steve's life insurance pays out. Due to the way he passed, it will be a minimum of 10 weeks before she even stands a chance of a payout. Any extra funds will go toward planning Steve's Celebration of Life with his family and friends and/or to help his adult daughters recoup income they are losing while mourning their Dad.
