When the Thompson family left church service October 29, they had no idea that their lives were about to take a sudden turn.
Arriving home that night, they found it engulfed in flames. Everything they owned and their beloved iguana and dog, Tilly, was lost in the fire. Thankfully, everyone in the family is safe.
As a family of 10, the Thompsons are now unhoused and looking for shelter that will keep them together. The rental market in Vermont is almost non-existent, so finding a place for the whole family will be difficult and expensive. In addition, they are starting down this new road with only the clothes they had with them Sunday evening and the few possessions that were in their vehicles.
The Thompsons are a single income homeschooling family. Aja is the Director for their homeschooling community. After the fire, her first instinct was to reach out to the community and reassure them that she would be there and ready to direct on Tuesday.
Your support will help provide temporary shelter and security for this wonderful family. They have received physical donations of used clothes to get them through the week, but that is just a scratch on the surface of their mountain of need. Toiletries, food, toys, school supplies, furniture, bedding, towels, medicine and supplements—everything must be purchased new.
The Thompsons always put the needs of others before their own, and right now they need us to respond as they would. Keep them in your prayers! Anything would help ❤️
