Family Lost Everything in a Fire
Hi My name is Christine. I am writing on behalf of my godson's mom and one of my closest friends, Akilah Ellington and her fiance Steven Adolphus. Today their lives were changed forever. After running outside for a few moments to escape the summer heat and play in a splash park around the corner, Akliah and her two children came home to witness one of the most worst sights anyone could see. Akilah, and her two children saw their apartment building up in flames, specifically a five alarm fire. The kids and Akilah were hysterical and crying uncontrollably. Thankfully, Akilah made the decision to take the kids to the splash park when she did, because who knows if she didn't what could have happened. We are thankful and praising God that they are all alive. Unfortunately they lost EVERYTHING they had in the fire. Akilah left home to only run out for a minute, she returned with her two precious children, the clothes on their backs and one bottle for her 6 month old. The building is non-salvageable and Akilah and her babies sat helplessly and watched as the floors in the building collapsed. Everything was destroyed in the fire, family photos, kid's toys, baby supplies, furniture, clothes, school supplies, personal belongings, her engagement ring- everything her and Steven owned is destroyed. It is still unclear what caused the fire and both Steven and Akilah are very shaken up by this whole experience. I am begging you that you find it in your hearts to please help them pick up the pieces of having their ENTIRE world uprooted, in an instant. anything you can give, no matter how big or small, would be greatly appreciated because right now they are going to have to start all over.
You can also cashapp Akilah if you prefer at $AkilahE. May God find it in your hearts to help Akilah and Steven and even if you are not in a position to give financially please keep them in your prayers.
