The Little Princess Trust
In January this year I was diagnosed with breast cancer, an illness that has also affected my nan and my cousin. Three months on and I am now post-surgery, resting and healing and waiting for my chemotherapy treatment to begin. I have had long hair for most of my life, so the idea that I may lose it all is a daunting change! But I know that I will be okay. I can't imagine how scary and demoralising it could feel for a young person to lose their hair due to medical treatment. In an attempt to take back some body autonomy and make a young persons treatment journey a little bit better, I have made the choice to cut off 12 inches of my hair to donate to the Little Princess Trust.
When a child loses their hair to cancer, the Little Princess Trust are there with a free, real hair wig to help restore their confidence and identity. The cost of the wig is funded by the charity, but it costs a minimum of £700 to make them. I would like to try and raise a large chunk of the money that it will cost them to turn my hair into a wig for a child in need.
Thanks in advance for any donation you can make big or small!
