Hi, I am Jess and I am from Australia. I have been in touch with multiple families and young people striving to survive in Gaza over the last year or two. Here is more about Mohammed and his campaign:
My name is Mohammed, I'm 17 years old, from the Gaza Strip. Like any young man my age, I dreamed of an educational opportunity and a secure future. But under occupation, I was denied my most basic human rights.
Over the past many months, my family and I have experienced repeated displacement. Each time we tried to rebuild our lives, we were forced to leave everything behind and flee danger. In our most recent displacement, we suddenly left the camp we were living in in Bani Suheila, taking nothing with us... no clothes, no memories, not even the necessities of life. I lost the home I grew up in, the home that embraced my childhood...and this was the hardest news we have ever experienced.
Today, we are homeless, without food, without water, and we have completely run out of money. We live every day fighting just to survive, amid a harsh reality that crushes dreams and extinguishes hope. We have become displaced within our homeland, carrying only our souls, searching for a safe haven we have never found. Any support—no matter how small—can make a huge difference.
Our goal now is nothing less than survival. We need shelter, food, and assistance to guarantee us a minimum level of dignity.
My immediate family consists of 5 people, but we are also with my married sister and her young children. They need milk, diapers, and food.
The prices are constantly changing and rising, and we pay for everything here, from water, food, and firewood. Every dollar counts, so please stand with us in our time of need.
