Traffic Stop Process Done Virtual - Check App

Hi, my name is Michael Odiari, founder of Check app. For the last 4 years, I’ve dedicated my life to building a life saving solution. After a “routine” traffic stop, that led to me staring down the barrel of an officer's weapon, I realized how lucky or blessed I was to have life. This began my journey of Check, participating in over 80 hours of police ride-alongs and spending numerous hours in traffic court to fully understand the process. 

This led me to understand that for law enforcement the most dangerous part of their job is a traffic stop. Officers have a small time window to research who they have pulled over, investigate the stop, all while doing this on the side of a busy road. 

When an individual gets pulled over, they go through a series of emotions, fear, anxiety, increased level of stress, causing the individual to act outside their normal behavior. It doesn't help having an officer standing inches from their window in a dominant position. 

Solution: Check allows the officers to check the motorist, and the motorist to check the officer in the safety of both parties vehicles. Offering a check and balance, Check facilitates a safer interaction between the motorist and officer, by providing a video communication solution, serving as the *INITIAL* encounter, de-escalating an unnecessary or dangerous situation.

For the court, there’s many hurdles a violator needs to overcome to resolve their citation. In most cases, it’s time consuming, the verbiage is confusing, and an increased level of anxiety a violator faces because they don’t want to get a warrant or possible suspension of their license. 

For the people, they actually want to resolve their traffic citation, but with busy lives, they just want a convenient way to do so. 

Solution: Check makes it easy and simple for a violator to resolve a traffic citation. Check packages any necessary document and sends it electronically to the court & video chat with the judge. Saving the violator time, money and providing ease of mine. 

Going through this journey has not been easy, there’s been many challenges, sacrifices, and moments I wanted to give up. I need help from the people and I’m seeking your donation.
