Andy’s Top Surgery

We are reaching out to our loving community on behalf of our Andy to ask for a bit of help.

Andy(they/them) is a Black, queer, non-binary babe needing help to receive gender affirming surgery.

The cost of gender-affirming healthcare is among one of the many obstacles trans and non-binary people face when transitioning. For Andy, one of the next steps in their gender affirmation journey is FTM top surgery. They are hoping to follow through with their surgery before leaving Portland this fall, and need community support to cover the costs of all it takes to receive this surgery. Because Andy’s job as a mail carrier is extremely physical, it would be at least two months before they would be able to return to work. As we know, capitalism is soul crushing and Andy needs and deserves to have access to this life changing surgery with as few barriers as possible. They should be able to get this surgery and take the time needed to rest and recover without the fear and anxiety of how it will impact their stability and survival.

With money raised from this GoFundMe, Andy would be able to:

-Cover the cost of consultation fees, pre- & post-op appointments, and surgery ~$8000

-Pay their living expenses for two months of recovery ~$2200

-Get materials needed for post-surgery care ~$500

-Pay their bi-weekly therapy for two months ~$380

-Getting gender-affirming clothing after surgery ~$500
