A Mother's Love

This is probably the hardest thing I have ever done, but nothing compares to watching your 20  year old daughter, my only child, battle a heroin addiction & domestic violence.

It is with great humility that I ask for help in obtaining addiction treatment for my daughter.  She has been to numerous short term rehabs, all with her returning back to her abuser, and the drugs in less than 6 months. This drug is so powerful.  It ruins lives our beautiful young people with so much potential.  Watching this is devasting and painful beyond any words.  I hope and pray that no one has to endure this type of heart wrenching pain that come with this addiction.  I never imagined this life for my daughter nor myself.  Although we as parents do everything to raise our children and warn them against the harmful affects of drugs and alcohol,  some fall into the depths and cannot seem to get out.  That describes Amanda.  Myself and my husband have not seen her in seven months.  She is in bondage.  The relapse rate for heroin addiction is 90%. One hundred young adults die each day in the US from this drug.  This addiction has devasted my family.  Mostly her.  As a parent I will do everything in my power to save her life.  I would say that this is my last hope.  I pray each day that she makes it.  My plea is to get her to out of state treatment, away from her abuser and supplier. Ken Seeley, with the show intervention has offered to assist me with this process, but it requires expenses and funds that I do not currently have.   I beleive that God will see her to the other side.
