My father recover his business after an accident

Hello friends, family, and community,

 

My name is Laura Camila Medina, and I am the daughter of Alfonso Medina. From a young age, I have known my father to be the most hardworking, visionary, and driven person in my life. In 2018, my father began his business, Pocho’s Mango, a creative take on the delicious mango of street vendors in Colombia. The business has been a growing success with much passion and persistence, traveling to farmers' markets in Central Florida every week. My father started this business with a small cart and then dedicated himself and his funds to renovating a 1969 Volkswagen Kombi as an innovative and functional food truck. Visitors love to take photos and talk with my father about the beautiful job he has done, customized with such high attention to detail.

 

With his strong dedication, my father began to renovate a second Kombi to have a permanent location in Orlando. During the final licensing and permits, my father was in a disastrous accident at a gas station where flames consumed our beloved Pocho’s Mango Kombi. Thankfully my father was unharmed physically but had to endure the sight of his hard work and passion burning in front of him. This accident has taken a huge emotional and economic toll on our family as this is his primary source of income.

 

Our goal for crowdsourcing is to support my father in rescuing parts of the old Kombi and renovating a new food truck with a permanent location in Orlando, where my father’s business can continue to flourish.

Mi nombre es Laura Camila Medina, y soy hija de Alfonso Medina. Desde muy joven, he conocido a mi padre como la persona más trabajadora, visionaria y motivada en mi vida. En 2018, mi padre comenzó su negocio, Pocho’s Mango, una versión creativa del delicioso mango de los vendedores en Colombia. El negocio ha sido un éxito creciente con mucha pasión y persistencia, viajando a los farmers’ markets en Florida Central cada semana. Mi padre comenzó este negocio con un carrito pequeño y luego dedicó sus fondos a renovar un Volkswagen Kombi de 1969 como un food truck innovador y funcional. A los visitantes les encanta tomar fotos y hablar con mi padre sobre el hermoso trabajo que ha hecho, personalizado con tanta atención al detalle.

 

Con su gran dedicación, mi padre comenzó a renovar un segundo Kombi para tener una ubicación permanente en Orlando. Durante los trámites finales de licencia y permisos, mi padre tuvo un desastroso accidente en una gasolinera donde las llamas consumieron a su Pocho’s Mango Kombi. Afortunadamente, mi padre resultó ileso físicamente, pero tuvo que soportar ver su trabajo de tantos años destruido. Este accidente ha tenido un gran impacto emocional y económico en nuestra familia, ya que esta es su única fuente de ingresos.

 

Nuestro objetivo con el crowdsourcing es ayudar a mi padre a rescatar partes del viejo Kombi y renovar un nuevo food truck con una ubicación permanente en Orlando, donde el negocio de mi padre pueda seguir prosperando.
