Zion’s 2222 Camera Fund

Donation protected

Hey y’all! My Name is Zion Thomas.

I’m a queer Black photographer, creative and community organizer from South Seattle. I’m here to raise just over 2k to get some new camera equipment, level up creatively & begin a new journey, tapping into my power & create photographs/art in the name of storytelling to empower marginalized voices.

My vision since I picked up a camera at 15, was to tell stories. Especially those that have been disenfranchised and make it into art. To make it larger than life & make it heard. I’m nearing 21 years old and i’ve grown so much as a person, all i want to do is stand in my creative elements and work hard  going into the stories and histories of BIPOC. Especially those of the Black diaspora, to remind ourselves of who we are. To empower voices and stories that have been silenced through my art and also educate and create learning opportunities in the process.

Too often are (marginalized) Black stories told they aren’t good enough to be in publications or websites. That our stories are less than or unappealing, and that just isn’t the truth. I want to be able with this camera fund combat anti-Black sentiments among other things, by the purchase a QUALITY camera & lens to get started on amplifying these stories, faces, backgrounds and people that the world is waiting to hear.

Thank you for your support!
