Coach Z and his wife Sonya have touched many lives through coaching and education. I know he would never ask for help but I know he would be the the first one to help one of us.

11-10-23 update

Ok here’s update on Sonya.

She will be discharged today and moved to Harbor Hospice in patient facility in Portland Texas. They will be transporting her via ambulance.

The plan from here on out is to make her as comfortable as possible. The doctor told me today there is no definitive time frame. It could be days into weeks or even month or two depending on how well she continues doing eating and drinking. The in patient facility is like a brand new mini hospital there is no definitive timeframe for her stay there. It’s basically like a transit unit so it could be 7 days to 30 days depending on what the harbor hospice doctors deems necessary. Let’s hope for more rather than less. Once she leaves that unit I have chosen at the moment for her to be at gulf pointe in Rockport. I wanted to put her with Jamie at her facility but at this moment they don’t have any beds. My only worry is that she gets the care she needs but with me and Phyllis and her friend Mikey in and out I being in and out and present it should be more pressure to keep her care top notch. I haven’t figured out the pay part of this but will be applying for Medicaid pending to help so fingers crossed. Thank you and love Sonya and I.

SONYA UPDATE——. CANCER CAME BACK IN AUGUST

For some that know or might not know….So I had convo with radiation oncologist today. They are stopping radiation treatments effective today. She feels judging by her reactions to treatments and decline that it wouldn’t benefit her but rather hurt her. She will stay at hospital next week to help with hydration and be receiving fluids. Monday we will discuss next steps on where she will be going whether it’s hospice facility or home hospice. Could be middle to end of next week before she is discharged and moved. With radiation ending im pretty sure that dr Brenner will be calling off chemo as well. Basically we are moving forward to making her comfortable from here on. It could be weeks to a month according to the doctor. Please make a conscience effort to see her as she probably won’t be with us a lot longer. I refused a feeding tube as of today since before this sonya and I had discussed no DNR and no tubes or anything. We will continue to get ensure and smoothie type things down. She did well with that yesterday.
