Zinnie's Health Battle: Ongoing Aid Needed

Hi, my name is Ashlee. I got Zinnie in June 2024 from a local animal shelter. She is a tabby/siamese mix and was a little over 1 year old, (found at trailer park in Minot, ND). Zinnia (Zinnie) was the first and only cat I asked to meet after walking in. We instantly bonded after she climbed into my arms. We had some great months together! Her favorite things to do are playing fetch, eating wet food, knocking over things to wake me, and jumping in the empty bathtub.

In January 2025, she began to change drastically, losing weight, not eating, not using the bathroom, not moving, hiding, and collapsing within a week. I made an appointment with a vet ASAP and resorted to feeding her with a syringe.

After many vet visits, I found out she has a blood parasite and is anemic. She has been going to the vet to get her CBCs checked weekly, which has been terribly expensive. I got pet insurance, but everything has been considered a “pre-existing condition,” not being covered.

After almost 3 months of being on antibiotics and a steroid, and not seeing much improvement, she began to decline again (same negative signs). I brought her to the vet again on April 21, 2025. The vet tested her for FIV (AIDS) and FELV (Feline Leukemia Virus). The SNAP test came back with FELV being a faint positive. They want to re-test to confirm, so I am anxiously waiting on the results and will know more within the next week.

I am fundraising to cover the ongoing and unexpected veterinary expenses for Zinnie. Any help would be greatly appreciated to ensure she gets the care she needs.
