Zines of the world is an open submission exhibition project curated by Doomed Gallery and The Photocopy club, featuring photographic zines from all corners of the globe. The exhibition first opened in 2015 at Doomed Gallery and featured over 400 zines. The idea was to bring this amazing collection of self publishing too different spaces. ZOTW was exhibited in Lodz, Poland as part Fotofestiwal 2016.
For this year’s ZOTW we have called out again for zine submissions from around the world. The exhibition will take place at the Truman Brewery in London on October 12th to 16th, and will feature around 1000 photographic zines, all made on photocopiers and printers and put together mostly by hand from zine makes.
We are asking for your support to bring this exhibition project to life. As well as the exhibition we are doing a series of artist and publisher talks, zine publisher stalls, short film screenings and zine and photography workshops that are all free for the public to enjoy.
The exhibition is hung using a string system from the ceiling and each zine features a small flag to identify its country of origin.
The money raised will go towards the design and building of the exhibition space, film screening area, Insurance, advertising and print costs, chair and table hire, resources for workshops and pizza for our assistants.
