Hello, my name is Aliaa and I'm Ziggys human companion. Ziggy is a Peruvian hairless dog who was adopted 2 years ago. He just turned 3 this last month and him and Laszlo, his adopted brother, have brought joy, and hope and love, considering their traumatised history. Ziggy is the youngest, however bravest member of the family. In Ziggys world, he is king of the castle, and every now and then we try to remind him, he doesn't need to patrol and secure our space. Ziggy is 7kg and his confidence weighs 10 times that.

Ziggy was run over by an SUV which ripped in his stomach muscle apart which lead to his liver, intestines, kidneys and bladder falling out of place. I immediately rushed him to the nearest Emergency hospital, which was an hour away in Zürich, Switzerland. I live in a small town in Germany, right by the Swiss border, so Zürich was the closest city with a pet hospital.

They were able to operate on him yesterday, which saved his life, but we are not out of the woods yet. They don't know how his kidneys, bladder and hips are as of yet. They need to stabilize him in the intensive care unit and possibly operate again on him this evening or tomorrow morning.

Ziggy is unfortunately not insured since before adopting him he had hip dysplasia which needed to be operated on. I paid the first 3,000CHF - Swiss francs (around 3,000 Euros) and signed that i agree to pay another 8,000-10,000 CHF for the second surgery and days needed in intensive care.
