Meet Zidan, our beautiful 2-year-old with bright blue eyes that light up any room. Just one year ago, our world turned upside down when he was diagnosed with Pineoblastoma, a rare and aggressive form of brain cancer originating from the pineal gland. What started as a normal childhood quickly turned into a fight for survival that no child should ever have to face.

Zidan’s journey began when he suddenly lost the ability to walk and experienced constant, inconsolable crying. We rushed him to the emergency room, where he had immediate surgery to place a temporary shunt. That was just the beginning of the numerous surgeries to come. Afterward, a permanent shunt was installed, and a biopsy revealed the devastating diagnosis: cancer, with metastasis to his spine. Over the following months, Zidan underwent 6 surgeries, including a major brain surgery to remove the tumor, as well as three cycles of chemotherapy. Despite his strength and resilience, the cancer continued to spread in his brain and spine. Stem cell therapy offered a glimmer of hope, but unfortunately, the cancer continued to progress.

Zidan now faces a more aggressive form of the disease, known as leptomeningeal spread, and his body is also battling frequent seizures. We recently started a new treatment with an Ommaya reservoir to manage the cancer, but the tumors are growing again. We have sought second opinions from top medical centers across the country, but all the clinics are in agreement—this battle is far from over.

As his parents, our hearts are filled with fear, sorrow, and a relentless desire to do everything we can to save him. The road ahead is both medically and financially challenging. Life-saving therapy is urgently needed, but the costs far exceed what our family can afford.
