For Owen!

Hey everyone, as some of you are aware and for those who are not, my friend Owen Benoit required emergency brain surgery on June 28th to remove a tumour. The surgery was successful and Owen has been recovering very well. With that being said, he received some sad news yesterday that the tumour was in fact cancerous and he will be required to complete 30 rounds of cancer treatments.

While recovering from surgery and having to complete these cancer treatments, Owen will have to take extended time away from work. We are hoping that setting up this gofundme will help with any financial burden that may arise through this difficult hurdle.

Speaking as a friend of Owen's, I can honestly say that he is one of the nicest and most caring human beings I've ever met. He is the type of person to never make you feel left out, he is always up for having a laugh or a chat about almost anything. I call him the chair of the Paradise Social committee because he knows and is friends with nearly everyone in the community lol. That's just the type of welcoming person he is. "Big Daddy" as we like to call him, is a "Super Dad" to his 10-year-old daughter Hannah. Whether it's driveway soccer, snow forts, trips to the playground, riding a bike...etc. The two are always together spending quality time as a father-daughter team. Owen has been like a brother to me and an uncle to our two children, they love to see him come through the door. Whether it's fishing, cooking up a feed in the shed, playing darts, shovelling snow, having a backyard fire, or just hanging out around the house it's always more fun when Owen is around. After this little bump in the road, I'm hoping we can get back to all that stuff as soon as possible.

So if you can come together and donate whatever is possible to help Owen and his family through this difficult time it would be greatly appreciated.
