Information about my background:
Hi, I am Zhora Hambaryan, and I am running this fundraiser on my own. I am fully committed to making my university journey at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) a reality.
Last year, I spent a year in the U.S. as a Future Leaders Exchange (FLEX) high school student. I challenged myself in new ways—learning languages, playing water polo, biking everywhere—but more importantly, I grew. I became more independent, adaptable, and clear about what I want to pursue.
That clarity came when I spoke at the Junior Achievement Business Hall of Fame, representing both my host school and Armenia as a cultural ambassador. Standing before respected business leaders in St. Louis, I felt I had found where I belonged. That moment sparked my passion for business, leadership, and using digital technologies to create impact.
Now, this is more than just a degree—it is about building something meaningful and giving back to Armenia. I am ready, and your support can help me turn this dream into reality.
Purpose of the fundraiser:
With a childhood passion for studying business management, I have spent years researching universities that best fit my academic interests. Recently, I have been accepted into the Bachelor of Science in Management and Data Science program at the Technical University of Munich: one of the world’s top 50 universities, according to the Shanghai Ranking, and the top university in Germany, according to Times Higher Education.
While I have been admitted with no tuition fee charges, I still need to raise €11,900 to open a blocked account as financial proof for the German embassy student visa requirement. This amount is meant to cover essential living expenses like accommodation rent, food, health insurance, transportation, and other basic needs throughout my studies.
I am launching this fundraiser to help make my education at one of the world’s leading universities possible.
Timeline and the fundraiser amount:
The timeline can be set until mid-September, and the total amount to be collected is 11900 euros, which is a mandatory component for the student visa.
Objective:
As I collect the funds to open a blocked account for the German embassy, I get closer to obtaining my student visa and starting my education. This support not only enables the visa process but also ensures I can cover monthly expenses like accommodation rent, food, health insurance, transport, and more. With financial security, I can focus fully on my studies and make the most of this opportunity without constant worry about financial needs.
Impact:
By supporting this fundraiser, you’re helping me get closer to my dream of creating a stronger and more balanced economy in Armenia. By studying Management and Data Science at TUM, I’ll learn how to use data to understand various economic problems and ultimately bring these skills back to Armenia to help build a more stable and opportunity-filled economy for my community. I also aim to share my knowledge back with the organizations and programs I’ve been part of as a volunteer and active member along the way!
Risks:
The main risk is time. My academic program begins on October 1st, and I must show proof of sufficient funds (11904 euros = $14,000 USD) to the German embassy well before then to secure a visa. This leaves me with less than two months to raise the required amount.
Should the required amount not be raised within the time necessary - and thus not become eligible for the unique opportunity - please rest assured that the funds raised on this campaign will go towards my continued education endeavors.
