Hello and thank you for taking the time to read this story. My name is Todd Smith and my good friend's life was taken from him at 23 yrs old for no reason.

Tragically Jared was murdered the morning of Sunday August 9th 2015 in Anaheim. He was gunned down for no reason. The press is claiming it was gang related. I can tell you Jared was not in any gang.

Jared grew up in tough conditions. He didn't have a lot and everything he did have, he worked hard for it. Jared's family has already lost a son / brother to an early death a few years back. Now Jared. All he wanted was to be happy and have his family with him. Our hearts go out to his sisters and his mother and father who have lost their last remaining son.

I watched Jared grow to be a strong man with a heart of gold. He just signed a lease for a new house 2 days prior where he was going to have his whole family come live with him. He was so excited. The thing he worked towards for so long has finally come to. He wanted to take care of his mother, father and his younger sister who he garded as a big brother does. His goal was to be a family all together under one roof.

We are trying to raise funds to help the family with the huge expenses of having to go through this. The funds will also help the family stay in their current living situation until they can get on there feet.

Jared was the glue in this family and his only wish was to take care of them as he did till the day his life was stolen from him. He leaves behind him a ton of very close friends and family who will all miss him dearly.

Jared just know you are loved by many and missed by all. This world is truly a sadder place without you.
